Mi Hacienda Karaoke Contest Official Rules

Contest will be held on Sundays beginning June 29th until the finals on Aug 6th 2023 at Mi Haciend restaurant in the University Shopping Center. Richmond Ky. Between 4 and 7 pm.

Each week (excluding the finals) will have an entry fee of $5 with the money raised going to assist a local family in need. 

Two Winners Each Week. 1st being from judges decision. 2nd being from a crowd vote. 

JUDGES CHAMPION:

Judging: Judging of the contest will consist of three to four judges. While every attempt will be made that those judging will be consistent each week. We can't guarantee that each judge will make it every week and a substitute judge will be joining the panel. Singers who participate in the contest or have plans to participate will not be allowed to be judges. 

Judging Categories: Singers will be judged on the following categories

1. Stage Presence

2. Screen Time: The amount of time they need to refer to the screen.

3. Forgetting Lyrics

4. Staying on tune.

5. Heart put into song.

6. Vocal Ability

Contest Details: Each week a single winner will be chosen by the judges to move on to the finals. 

In the rare event that two singers end up with a tied score by the judges. Each judge will vote for one of the singers to advance with the singer with a majority of votes advancing. 

PEOPLE'S CHAMPION:

Each week a 2nd winner will be chosen by the audience. Audience votes will cost $1 per vote. Remember its all for a good cause. 

Finals Details: Singers who make the finals will sing two songs. One low/medium tempo song and one upbeat.  

Song Choices: Song choices are up to the participants with the only limitations on tempo in the finals and of course what Starlite Entertainment has in it's library. No duplicate songs in the finals, if you sang it during your winning week of the competition. If you did not win that week you can continue to sing it however in subsequent weeks to try to earn a spot in the finals. 

If the judge winner and crowd winner are the same person that person will advance to the finals in both categories. 

Prizes:

Trophies for 1st 2nd and 3rd place overall winners in the judges category

Trophy for 1st Place in the crowd category.

Additional prizes may become available as the contest continues. All funds raised will go for a good cause.
